The & nbsp; Inca Trail Machu Picchu 04 Days & nbsp ;, is one of the most famous hiking routes in Peru, also the best known and most popular hiking route in South America, perhaps in the world . Visited by thousands of tourists each year, the Inca Trail follows the original paved Inca roads, and is one of the biggest attractions on your trip to Peru. The & nbsp; Inca Trail 4 days & nbsp; of trekking offers you a variety of spectacular archaeological sites along the way.
We will pick you up at your hotel at 6:00 am with our bus and then we will go to Piscakucho (2700 masl) The city known as Km 82 through the train route from Cusco to Machu Picchu by train. Starting our walk from the bridge checkpoint and walking along the left side of the Urubamba River that flows to the northwest of the & nbsp; Sacred Valley . After passing through some flat terraces, we arrive at Miskay (2800 masl) to go up and finally see the Inca City of Patallacta (2750 masl), we will continue our journey through the valley path created by the Kusichaca river and go little by little until we reach our first Huayllabamba camp (3,000 masl) where we will have the most spectacular views of the Vilcanota river, on the opposite side of the Urubamba river you can see the impressive Verónica snow-capped mountain (5,832 masl) and the incalculable diversity of flora and fauna that can be find on the site.
After a good breakfast, we are ready to continue our walk (considered the strongest of the trip), it consists of a narrow climb and close to the cliffs (9 km).
Along this ascent the landscape changes to the Puna Sierra (dry area with little vegetation and high). This will be the route to reach the first pass of the mountain known as Abra Warmihuañuska (Dead Woman’s Pass) we can see llamas and domestic alpacas grazing Ichu (one of the few plants that grow at this height). We will also cross through an area of forest inhabited by various kinds of animals such as sparrows, hummingbirds, partridges and Andean bears. For this route we recommend bringing lemon candies, chocolates and coca leaves. in order to maintain the high sugar level and control your glycerin level at altitude. Immediately after the pass we will descend to the Pacaymayu valley (3600msnm) where we will camp after 6 hours of walking.
This day is memorable for its number of archaeological sites that we will visit and we receive more information from our guide. From Pacaymayu we will continue to the second pass the Runcurakay pass (3970 meters above sea level), in the middle of the morning we will visit the archaeological complex of the same name, this site is located at 3800 meters above sea level, it consists of a small oval structure that is incorporated as a surveillance place (Tower of Surveillance). After passing through the pass we will descend to Yanacocha (Laguna Negro) and enter the cloud forest and finally we will arrive at Sayacmarca (3624 masl). This is a beautiful complex made up of a semicircular building with different levels, narrow streets, liturgical fountains, patios and irrigation canals. We are going to follow the path by an easy path, we reached the third stage & nbsp; to the Phuyupamarca farm (3700 meters above sea level). Throughout our tour we will be able to appreciate the magnitude of the ancient art of the Incas and see the rocks that were placed & nbsp; in perfect order. We will continue our walk going only through an Inca tunnel and reach the previous step, this is one of the archaeological complexes, although complete and preserved and it is the highest point of the mountain. Phuyupamarca means “The cloud over the city”, where we can see a sophisticated complex and composed of water sources with a solid base and with impressive views of the Urubamba River, after that walk we will arrive at Wiñayhuayna (2700 masl). On this site we will find a country house with a restaurant, rooms with bathroom and hot shower. Five minutes from the campsite in Wiñaywayna archaeological complex consisting of an agricultural center with numerous terraces and a religious center in the city.
